The nearest station to the naturist resort is AGDE train station. When looking on Seat61 (if going from UK to France by train) or the French SNCF train website, make sure you search by AGDE and not Cap d’Agde. The local train station is in the centre of the town of Agde and not on the Cap (Cape) of Agde. Do not be worried though as a 15 minute taxi journey will take you from the train station, direct to the resort. Expect to pay around Euros 15 – 20 one way.
Rue de la Digue, 34300, Agde, France.
There is an SNCF direct line between Paris and the South of France, with the main stop off point being Montpellier. From Montpellier you can get the local train the extra 30 minutes or so to Agde station. More on getting to Cap d’Agde by train and rail. Right outside of Agde train station are the buses. For approx. two euros you will be outside the gates of the Naturist quarter in no time at all. Taking a taxi will save you maybe 15-30 minutes only.
There are trains connections which will take you along the bottom of the South coast of France although slower trains than the high speed TGV. From Nice it will take you about 5 to 6 hours to get to Agde although at the time of writing, there are no direct trains. You will have to change at least once, either at Marseille or Montpellier.(Some routings may take you via Avignon). You can also check timetables and fares on www.voyages-sncf.com
If you are trying to book routes between Germany and France to get yourself to Agde, using the Germain rail site Deutsche Bahn can be easier than using the SNCF site and can be used in German or English.
Visitor Comments: You can get the TGV from Paris to Agde. We arrived in Charles de Gaulle and got the TGV from CGD to Adge, about 4 1/2 hours. You should also be able to get the TGV from Gare de Lion in Paris if you are not arriving by air, it will also be cheaper. Taxi from Agde Station to Cap d’Agde is about 25 Euros.
